New Year’s Eve 2016

The New Year’s Eve 2016 has arrived! This year Dave and I decided to spend the New Year’s Eve in Baltimore.

Dave bought us packages to the iFLY indoor skydiving center to experience a free fall. The whole experience includes pre-flight training, all the necessary flight gear (suit, helmet, goggles), 2 flights each, two videos, and a personalized post-flight certificate. While waiting for our class, we had fun watching other people freefalling.

There is a high package option available, where you fly towards the top of the tunnel with your instructor by your side for an additional fee.

Our time has come. We had 2 flights each with the high option on the second flight. Indoor skydiving is the simulation of true freefall conditions in a vertical wind tunnel, where a smooth column of air  enables you to fly.

Here is a short video of my second flight.

Dave’s turn.

Dave’s iFLY video.

I would like to share, that the experience is pretty close to a free fall by jumping from an airplane, but there is not as much excitement or adrenaline rush. Our previous skydive posts could be found here and here. Here are our sky jumps from the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas.

After the iFLY indoor skydive center adventure we drove to the Embassy Suites hotel in Baltimore, where we were staying on New Year’s Eve. A couple pictures of the Baltimore streets from the car while approaching The Grand – luxury event venue.

We registered for the New Year’s Eve Extravaganza at The Grand, which was connected by skywalk from the Embassy Suits hotel. The party included several dancing rooms with live music, food and cocktails. The event was beautiful and we had so much fun there!

Here, happy us in the first minutes of 2017. I really hope this year will be magical. 🙂

Here is a short video of the midnight countdown.

And a couple pictures of us next to our Christmas tree.

Happy New Year 2017 from us and our cute penguin!
